About Us

Sumit is a Senior Resident Fellow at CCLE. He did his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal University and was a Core Team Member (CTM) with India’s one of the leading political consultancies. He has done a project with Ernst and Young on land availability in the state of Jharkhand. The same consisted of overviewing legislative framework in the state and make recommendation to the client for land availability in order to improve Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) ranking. He has also been associated with Vidhi Center for Legal Policy to work on Supreme Court constitutional bench judgments in terms of unanimous and divided opinions. He likes to deal with the interface between law and policy and its impact on governance and politics. Currently he is doing a dissertation on competition law as part of Masters Programme in Public Policy. He can be contacted at sumit@icle.in.

Bhaskar is a Senior Resident Fellow at CCLE. He did his graduation in Business Management from Bangalore University and is interested in stock markets and the regulatory framework defined by SEBI. He worked with Samata on a comparative study between state-run and community run tourism in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He was also associated with Indus Action to work on implementation of the Right to Education Act and ensure participation from marginalised communities in school programmes. Currently, Bhaskar is doing his dissertation on electoral reforms with an emphasis on reservation in electoral politics. Pragati is a Senior Resident Fellow at CCLE. She graduated with a Mathematics degree from Hindu college, University of Delhi before joining Master of Public Policy (MPP) at National Law School of India University, Bangalore. She worked with Teach for India (TFI) for three years and was responsible for developing fellow leadership, creating city strategic plan of support and building school government relationship. As a part of MPP course, she did her fieldwork with Shiksha Anne Kalyan Samaj in Amreli, Gujarat on alternative judicial redressal for women such as Nari adalats. She was also been engaged with Action Aid India on a project to promote participation of children in urban governance, which is in alignment with the core principle of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). She is currently working on her dissertation to understand the implications of scheme of universal basic income in the Indian context. She can be contacted at pragati@icle.in.

Vineet  is a Senior Resident Fellow at CCLE. He is a policy commentator and analyst who contributes regularly to senior publications across the subcontinent. His work has been featured in The Hindu, The Indian Express, The New Age, Bangladesh and Mizzima, Myanmar, apart from his contribution to several online portals. With work experience in Myanmar and India in the field of Social Policy, Democratization and Governance and Public Finance, he has turned his focus to the future of work in the gig economy. Vineet has completed his graduation from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and his present dissertation studies regulation in the gig economy. He can be contacted at vineet@icle.in.

Vikrant is a Senior Resident Fellow at CCLE. He did his graduation in Electrical Engineering from Government Engineering College, Jabalpur. He was a part of drafting team for the Karnataka Slum (Development) Bill, 2018 and Devadasi (Prevention, Prohibition, Relief and Rehabilitation) Bill 2018 which are currently being considered by Karnataka government to be introduced in the Assembly. He has worked on social policies related to MNREGA and PDS in the state of Rajasthan during his association with MKSS. He has also worked on the issue of Internal Security and Police Reforms in India with Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi under the Strategic Studies division. His areas of interest are criminal justice system and selective application of law. He is currently working on his dissertation on Muslim Undertrial Prisoners in the state of Karnataka and can be contacted at vikrant@icle.in.
